A Fishy Opportunity with MSC
Do take time to vote for those companies making waves in sustainability in seafood with the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).
It’s the world’s most recognised ecolabel seafood and it can be seen on everything from tinned fish to tuna steaks.
And for the first time, the MSC UK Product of the Year Award at this year’s MSC and ASC UK Awards will be judged exclusively by a public vote…so you can vote!
You Could be a Winner!
What’s more voters could win a paddle-board from B-Corp certified Red as first prize, as well as either a £200 or £100 voucher for Cornish-based clothing company Finisterre, as second and third prizes.
Voting is now open until the end of the day on Friday 30 August. To participate, you must visit https://www.msc.org/uk/awards/product-of-the-year-2024 for the chance to help crown the winner and perhaps be a winner yourself..
Borlotti Beans from Bold
If, like us, you’re a fan of beans, you’ll be pleased to hear that Bold Bean Co, the company that’s shaken up the pulse market, has recently added borlotti beans to its range.
Grown in Northern Italy, the beans can be eaten straight from the jar and used in a wide variety of dishes as a substitute for meat, offering an excellent source of protein in its own right.
They lend themselves particularly well to Italian recipes, but are so versatile and delicious you’ll have fun experimenting with your own recipes.
Jars of Bold Bean Co’s borlotti beans (£4) will be available to buy in June from boldbeanco.com and independent retailers.
A Saucy New Number from Heinz
Liven up your food with new Heinz X Morley’s Fried Chicken Sauce.
Developed with Morley’s, the cult South London fried chicken institution, the, then, limited-edition sauce set the internet on fire last year. Due to popular demand and social media hype, the sauce is back. Made with tomatoes, paprika, onions, and a hint of chilli, this blend of sweet and spicy flavours, can be used to elevate a range of cuisines from burgers, halloumi and rice, lamb, pizza and of course, chicken.
It also makes a great dip, but I warn you, it’s very moreish! Widely available now, at around £3.39
