As a devout follower of all things skincare – I was intrigued to hear about Skincycles. The name in itself implies integrity of the very nature of skin’s dynamic. It is just that… dynamic. Made up of 800 million cells, it’s our biggest organ and responsible for protecting us from external irritants. The skin renews itself – shedding old cells for fresh, healthy new ones every 28 days or so, depending on our age.
Personally, I like natural products. Having said that – scientific backing is also essential as there are so many products out there to choose from and I don’t want to waste my time or money! Suffering from acne-prone skin with a lot of post-pregnancy pigmentation that never left (caused by hormonal changes).. After speaking with the skincare specialist at the clinic – she assessed my skin and gave me these products to try:
Glycolic Brightening Cleanser – targets dullness and rough skin texture to enhance your skin’s natural glow. Formulated with an effective concentration of Glycolic Acid, Phytic Acid, and Citric Acid, it gently exfoliates away dead skin layers, unveiling a visibly brighter and more radiant complexion.
I have to say I really love this product. Usually I find cleansers fairly underwhelming but this one feels soft and luxurious as I massage it over my skin with no drying at all and seems to have a head start on any new pimples forming in the morning. I really love this product and feels different to any others I have used.
After this I use the Clarify Complexion Salicylic Rescue Serum, a powerful blend designed to clear and calm the skin. Again – maybe this is assisting my acne prone skin and I will keep using it and see how I get on. I follow this with the creamy Collagen Renewal Complex which integrates the nourishing benefits of natural oils with the rejuvenating power of marine collagen and advanced peptides. It feels creamy but sinks in quickly and not greasy at all.
In the mornings, I have been using the same cleanser followed with the Luminesce-C Skin Revival Serum. Crafted with 5% Ascorbic Acid and advanced Soluble Proteoglycan, this serum is said to be key to a brighter, more youthful complexion and then the same Collagen Renewal Complex. The specialist said using vitamin C products in a serum is more beneficial than using ones blended in with a moisturiser. (I have been using a well known Vit C cream for some time, but as advised a Vit C serum on it’s own has a little more potency as it hasn’t had to be encapsulated into another product.) So I’m definitely going to keep using this one.
I also used the Hydrating Bio-Cellulose Silk mask which provides intense nourishing and penetrating moisture. The sheet mask uses ‘active transportation’ technology to deliver liposome particles engineered for instant skin-cell penetration with anti-aging benefits. I nice weekend treat for the skin I used it on Saturday while taking a little me time.
Alice Henshaw is the face behind the brand and during the pandemic sought to provide her clients with products that would support their skin’s healing and rejuvenation processes following the injectable treatments her clinic offers at her Harley Street Clinic. Dissatisfied with the formulas available, Alice collaborated with top scientists to develop TGHA⁴®, a proprietary anti-aging complex. This innovative formula became the cornerstone of SkinCycles, offering powerful yet gentle skincare solutions suitable for all skin types.
Skincycles is also dedicated to minimising their ecological footprint by using ethically sourced ingredients and sustainable packaging. They use recyclable glass, cardboard packaging. They carry the PETA Cruelty-Free mark, ensuring that all our products are cruelty-free. They are also paraben-free and silicone-free.
I have been using these products for a week and I have already noticed good results; I’m excited to share how my skin feels in another 4-6 weeks 🙂 Watch this space!
