Delilah bronze Roko Gym, Hartington Road, W4 3UH
The one bronzer that makes a transformative but understated difference. Loved by the RiverTribe women, this may look a little flat in the compact but once applied does the job of a photographic diffuser lens. The team behind Delilah is Rupert Kingston, Hannah Nicholson and Juliet White. Kingston spent many years as a make-up artist and Creative Director and has developed numerous award-winning cosmetics. Nicholson has had a long career as a beauty buyer and specialised in product development, working with some of the world’s most prestigious cosmetics manufacturers. White, a photographer whose work has featured in The New York Times and Rolling Stone, brings her expertise in imagery, graphics and design to Delilah. The team has poured its expertise into the brand. Loved by TV Presenter and Barnes resident Holly Willoughby, this is an essential part of any make-up kit. Don’t leave home without it.
Best for Reliability £25
Hoola Bronzer by Benefit Cosmetics. House of Fraser, George Street, Richmond, TW9 1HA
The first truly natural bronzer and, in many people’s books, still the best. It is the top selling bronzer in the UK, in the Vogue Beauty Hall of Fame and it won a Stylist Magazine Award in 2016. Benefit, is a range started by Jean and Jane Ford in 1979. It now sells in 2,000 outlets across the world, Before Hoola, bronzers were often unnaturally orange and applied unevenly. But the researchers at Benefit changed all that. The product was an immediate best-seller and, along with a few cosmetic hero items, has near iconic status.
