Much as I become frustrated at Christmas seeming to start earlier every year (particularly television ads and ‘Advent’ calendar promotions), I do really love my annual visit to The Spirit of Christmas Fair at Olympia.
The Start of Christmas – a Great Event
The fair marks the start of the countdown to Christmas for me, and it runs from 4-10 November – with over 600 independent brands exhibiting.
It gives the chance to buy, in one place, a range of gifts from all manner of top companies, including: ladies fashion, homeware, Christmas decorations, children’s clothes as well, of course, as fabulous food and drink from award winning artisans and producers, including many Great Taste Award winners. (I know all about the quality of these awards, as each summer I help with the judging and there will be some really top-notch products there to taste and buy.)
Fabulous Food and Drink
Just to add to the fun of the day, acclaimed Spanish chef, José Pizarro is returning, with his specially crafted tapas menu that showcases his signature dishes, alongside exclusive creations designed for the show. Afternoon teas will also be available – and bookable in advance.
Workshops too
The popular complimentary, creative Workshops offer inspiration to visitors, who can enjoy a range of interactive sessions and interesting conversations including Strictly judge Shirley Ballas and Irish TV chef and author, Clodagh McKenna.
Champagne to Refresh you
And when you want to relax over a festive glass of fizz, four Louis Roederer Champagne bars provide a relaxing place to rejuvenate with a glass or two in-between shopping. Also, if you haven’t spent all your money already, two adjoining Fairs can also be enjoyed whilst visiting: the Winter Art & Antiques Fair, taking place on the Grand Hall gallery (4-10 November), and The Luxury Travel Fair, taking place from the 7-10 November on the National Hall gallery
