Your Wild Mushroom Feast

A range of mushrooms, with distinctive flavour profiles, make this magic mushroom menu a saliva-inducing umami treat. Embrace the elusive umami fifth sense, with a Mushroom Bellini before indulging in this specially curated menu.

The menu comprises of Truffle Pâté served with crostini to start, followed by a rich and savoury Wild Mushroom Broth with lavash croutons.

Taking things up a notch, enjoy King Oyster Nigiri, pan-fried king oyster topped with a mango and enoki salsa, followed by a Mushroom Bourguignon, cooked in a rich red wine sauce, served on a bed of garlic and herb mushroom mash, topped with Jerusalem artichoke crisps.

To finish; enjoy “The Garden”, a mushroom chocolate mousse, vanilla jelly, Cointreau shimeji, orange coulis and dark chocolate crumble.

The entire menu of foraged mushrooms is sustainably sourced without artificial cultivation and the seasonal window makes this a rare, special edition menu.

The Gate Founder, Michael Daniel says: “The UK is home to thousands of edible mushrooms from subtle, earthy Oyster to intense, savoury Porcini, all found in our woodlands. Those earthy, rich, seasonal flavours of wild mushrooms are hard to beat, and worth celebrating.”

Maybe it’s time to soak up the atmosphere at The Gate, established in 1989 by brothers Michael and Adrian Daniel of Indo-Iraqi heritage – and find out why it has such a loyal and devoted following.
